Our simple Gimmel ring splits into two joined bands which may be engraved on the inner surfaces. The early Gimmel rings can be traced to the 13th century and became popular betrothal symbols throughout the Medieval and Renaissance periods. "Gimmel" stems from the Latin for "twin", referring to the union of the two bands.
Approximately 2.5mm thick, the ring appears to be a plain round band until taken off the finger to reveal two intertwined bands. The inside surface of each band may accommodate names, initials, or a short phrase. Please include your sizing and engraving notes at checkout or inquire via our contacts page.
